Above all, we ask that you enjoy your stay!

1) Cancellation Policy: 
Always an uncomfortable situation, both for us and for the people we’ve turned away during the time we set aside for your reservation.  We are a small property and, though it’s usually easy for us to stay full, it can be difficult to re-book on short notice, so here’s what we’ve worked out:  If Guest wishes to cancel a reservation or shorten the length of their visit, up to 45 days before the check in date, we will be happy to refund the full amount, minus a 10% cancellation fee. Any cancellation received less than 45 days before the check in date, unfortunately, can only be refunded if we are able to re-book the rooms at the same rate.  If we are successful in re-booking the room, you will be fully refunded minus a charge of 20% of your stay for the work in re-contacting all the people we said “no” to when you booked.  We rarely get cancellations, but we realize sometimes they’re just unavoidable and want to assure you that we do all we can to find someone to fill your spot.

2) Damage/
Missing Items Authorization: 
Although it rarely happens, and we know you are not “those people,” please understand that it is our sincere goal to provide a unique place of quality, rest and rejuvenation for our Guests. We hope you enjoy the unique antiques and décor items throughout the Inn. Each and every item was hand-selected for each particular room in order to enhance its ambiance and provide a more pleasurable stay for you, our valued Guests.

Authorization to charge your credit card in case of damages will be signed at check-in and will be shredded within 14 days after your departure. For damage or loss to linens or furniture, and/or any other Red Door Inn property, we charge Guests a minimum fee of $50.00 to clean, repair and (where necessary) replace damaged items. Should the damage or loss exceed this amount, the full amount of the cost to repair/replace will be charged to the Guest accordingly.  Our housekeeping staff keeps an inventory of each room prior to arrival and upon departure, and we reserve the right to charge for any missing items. Any pending damage, repair or replacement charges will be communicated to you in advance of charging your credit card. Thank you for helping us keep our Inn special so that others may enjoy it as well!

Upon Check-in please take a moment to look over the room and report any dissatisfaction to the manager within the first 24hrs so we can ensure you have a great visit

3) Maximum Occupancy:
Bambou: 4 Guests (2 – queen bed, 2 – queen air mattress)
Main House: 4 Guests (2 – queen bed in each bedroom)

Note:
We are happy to have someone come to visit you during the day (no more than 4 visitors at a time per reservation, please!). People other than the Guests set forth above may not stay overnight on the property. We are reasonable but also must be sensitive to our neighbors and the maximum occupancy laws. Any other person on the property is the sole responsibility of Guest.

No weddings, large parties/celebrations/dinners, or commercial events are allowed on the property at any time. A minimum fine of $500 will be assessed for each violation; owners reserve the right to increase fines subject to the violation.

4) Noise:
No room for error on this one…the Red Door Inn is in a residential neighborhood, so no noise after 10 p.m., especially outdoors.

5) Check-in/Check-out:

Check-in: 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM.
If arriving outside of check-in times, please call to make arrangements.
Check-out: 11:00 AM.

6) Housekeeping
:
Housekeeping services are not offered for stays less than a week, though you are welcome to request mid-stay housekeeping for an extra charge per request ($50 Bambou, $75 Main House, $100 Whole Property). For stays of a week or more, housekeeping services will be included once per-week as part of your rate – please note that linens will not be changed more than once weekly unless specifically requested.

7) Smoking
:
Smoking is NOT allowed inside, and please always be courteous to other guests.  A $200 cleaning fee will be assessed for any indoor smoking violations.

8) Fireplaces
:
The fireplaces in the living room and in the back courtyard are wood gas-starter fireboxes.  If you use the gas, please remember to turn it off once the wood fire is firmly established.  Please keep the logs burning as far in back of the fireplace as possible so that the smoke is pulled up the chimney.  Note for Ciel Fireplace: This fireplace is a non-vented, gas-only firebox.  Please do not throw any paper, wood or other combustible materials in the fireplace.

Note:  Spare the air days run from November 1 – February 29 in California; when announced, the use of fireplaces is illegal.  We will let you know when they occur!

9) Pets:
Pets are NOT allowed, but we would be happy to furnish you with some local resources if you want to bring your pet.

10) Children:

Out of respect for other Guests we ask that you please do not bring children under the age of 10 to the Inn without prior written consent. 

11) Parking
:
Bambou: Parking is in the garage; a garage code will be given at check-in.
Main House: Parking is in the designated Red Door space at the back of the driveway on the right. (Please do not park in the spaces designated for the Ambrose Bierce B&B)

12) Earthquakes/Natural Disaster/Emergencies:

If you’re looking for some ‘light’ bedtime reading, please review our ‘fine print’ on the website. It covers a whole host of natural disasters and other acts outside our control. While we hope nobody encounters these situations during a stay, emergency exit maps and other instructions will be provided in the information packet for all Guests – please familiarize yourself with the procedures.

13) Access:
Guest shall allow Red Door Inn management access to the property for purposes of repair and inspection. Should we need to, we will always exercise this right of access in a reasonable and considerate manner and give as much notice as possible.

14) Accident/Injury:

The Red Door Inn will not be held responsible for accidents or injury to Guests or for the loss of money or valuables of any kind.  By accepting this reservation, it is agreed that all Guests are expressly assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises or others whom they invite to use the premise. We ask that everyone drink responsibly and designate sober drivers during their time in the wine country.
